Orlando and San Pedro

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Cor 15:58)

I just want to say thank you to all of my prayer and financial partners, God has used you and me beyond what we could have ever imagined this summer. We did our thing at this summer’s training and project. You helped me to exhort American students and Dominicans to serve God for the rest of their lives. In the process, God used us to win souls to Him and start churches!

Before we left for our 26 day stay in the Dominican, I was able to lead a few of the sessions at the project’s launch base training LINC Boot Camp.

Sowing, Equipping and Empowering

In the past month God allowed me to gain experience leading like never before. The original project director that had planned to lead this year’s Dominican trip had to change plans as God opened a door in Europe for his church. Todd Valentine (my roommate, coworker and brother in Christ) and I were called to step up as the project directors! We were blessed with the opportunity to lead the team compiled from churches in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Raleigh, Palm Coast and Columbia!

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God…” (2 Timothy 1:6a)

I got the chance to guide our team, some for their first time in another country, as we shared the gospel on the campus of Universidad Central del Este (UCE), in the community around our sister church ICSPM and Barrio Azul.

It was SO awesome seeing God use us while sharing the Gospel, but one of the greatest aspects of working alongside my brothers and sisters in the local church there was getting to empower them to reach their city!
Alex (pictured in the above two photos) my brother and the Youth leader at ICSPM is an aspiring elder who’s studying business at UCE. Alex immediately became part of our team as he traveled and shared with us for our entire stay. We were able to train, model for, coach and inspire him to trust God to use him in amazing ways. Alex is shown gathering students at one of our events to announce the birth of La Iglesia la Gracia, the church on campus that he will be leading!

Following the Spirit’s Lead

La Iglesia la Gracia that meets on the campus of UCE
There’s nothing better than walking with the Spirit! As we arrived in San Pedro, our efforts to help the church with what they were currently working on and planning to do but needed help getting started was seamless!
The church that meets in The Carte’s House on Calle Defensa
We were able to help start a church on campus at UCE with Alex leading, start a house church at the Carte’s House (pictured above, a family that got connected into ICSPM from last year’s team that I was a part of), and started sowing in Barrio Azul a new neighborhood the church wanted to start reaching out to!

Making His Presence Known

We were able to share our testimonies, the Gospel and answer apologetics questions about Christianity in the classroom with anesthesiology students at the university!
We were also able to meet with and get contact information for over 100 students at UCE over our “Helado y Postre Gratis” (Free Ice Cream and Cake) Event!
We are humbled and grateful to have returned safely from these travels and be able to praise God for all that He used our team to do in the local church, on campus and in the community of San Pedro de Macoris!
PLEASE keep Alex, ICSPM, those we met and me in your prayers! Feel free to email/ contact me anytime. If you are not yet a partner with this ministry, please prayerfully consider becoming one! As the summer ends and I head into the start of a new academic year, I need even more help to accomplish all God has called me to!
